Friday 17th SULA (Scandanavia/Scotland) - acclaimed traditional music group celebrating the common traditional origins of Nordic and Scottish music.

February 2003, Folk Centre Events
Thursday 6th CHRIS WHILE & JULIE MATTHEWS - are two of England's finest performers. The last time they played the Folk Centre the place was packed, and they lef the audience screaming for more. If you missed them last year, get in early and make sure you don't miss them this time around. Supported by Adelaide's own Raw Honey (Sue Pratten and Miranda Bradley).
Saturday 8th REUBEN & ASH FAST HORSE - present Native American dance, storytelling and song in this unique performance.
Sunday 23rd WIDE OPEN JAM SESSION - This is a great general session for musicians of all persuasions; folk, blues, country, world, whatever. All welcome. Bring your instrument of choice and be part of the creative process. NOTE: 2pm-5pm
Friday 28th THE BIG CEILIDH - presents music, dance, and Craic with Ceilidh band 2Be Sure 2Be Sure. In the spirit of a real Ceilidh, meet new people - and dance with them! All dances called.

Saturday 1st VENUS RISING - The Venus Rising Music Festival is a dynamic event celebrating, showcasing and encouraging the artistic and musical talents of women. In 2003 for the very first time Venus Rising will be heading out onto the road presenting over 17 female performers in concert in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Hobart. The Adelaide show will feature the following performers: Sally Dastey, Rachel Gaudry, Sarah Giufre, Emaline Delapaix, Alicia-C, Shiney, Anthea, Poppi Doser & more! $16/$14 early bird discount and all ages show. 
Tuesday 11th FELPEYU (Spain) - are a sensational group playing traditional Asturian Celtic music from Spain. (Subject to final confirmation).
Wednesday 12th APODOMI COMPANIA (Greece) -  get ready for a wonderful traditional music concert featuring Greek Rembetika and Cretan Music from one of the world's best Greek traditional acts.
Thursday 13th APODOMI COMPANIA (Greece) -  Yes, we anticipate that one concert will not be enough to satisfy the demand to see this group.
Friday 14th GRAND MOTHER DRUM (Alaska) - A unique cultural night of musical healing, drumming, traditional shaman ritual, and community culture.
Thursday 20th THE HICKORY PROJECT (USA) - presents a superb blend of traditional and innovative bluegrass music that is fast, smooth, dynamic and bold. This is bluegrass music designed for the 21st Century!
Friday 21st ROCKY RIVER BUSH BAND - present the 'One World Beat' Bush Dance with proceeds going to the Bushfire Recovery Appeal. This evening of music and dance will have you up out of your chairs and kicking up your heels late into the night. Bring the family and join in the fun. All dances called.
Saturday 22nd JOHN SCHUMANN - former front man with Redgum, and writer of the classic 'I Was Only 19', John Schumann is one of Australia's most respected singer-songwriters. Supported by Jo Schmidt.
Sunday 23rd SCOTTISH QUIZ AFTERNOON - fundraiser for Scottish Radio on EBI-FM. All welcome.
Thursday 27th HARRY MANX (CANADA) - makes a welcome return to the Folk Centre. A must for lovers of blues guitar, and great singing. His CD 'Dog My Cat' won the USA Blues Album of The Year.

Sunday 30th KRIS DEMEANOR & BAND (Canada) - Kris is a superb independant singer-songwriter whose folk-rock performance will knock your socks off.

Friday 4th ROY BAILEY (UK) - England's leading political folk singer on tour. Radical folk songs of the people by the master interpreter. This show will sell out for sure.
Saturday 5th TOTALLY GOURDGEOUS - Madcap mayhem from one of Australia's most inventive acts. Folk meets Jazz and Cabaret.
Sunday 6th AUDREY AULD - Returns to the Folk Centre for the third time, for what is sure to be another great performance from this rising talent in Australian country music. Audrey will be supported by Adelaide's own The Yearlings who are also making a name for themselves on the national stage.
Friday 11th COUNTRY MUSIC MUSTER - Radio Adelaide (formerly 5UV) is putting together this night of great entertainment and it promises to be a big one. More details soon.
Saturday 12th MARGRET ROADKNIGHT - Celebrating 40 years in Australian 'showbiz', we present the quenn of Australian folk and blues. From her origins as a Peacenik singer, Margret has progressed to Diva of the folk world.
Sunday 13th JEANETTE WORMALD - hails from South Australia's mallee region, and has released several highly acclaimed albums, including her latest release Messenger Bird. Jeanette's performances are always a pleasure to experience, and this show will be no exception.

WE ARE GOING TO CANBERRA FOR THE NATIONAL FOLK FESTIVAL - See you at the South Australian 'village' which will showcase the states culture, history and music to the thousands of Festival participants.

Sunday 27th JERRY EPSTEIN (USA) - Jerry is a renowned singer of traditional folksongs of the USA. This is his second visit to the Centre in as many years.

Saturday 3rd THE GRAND OL' OPRY - a bluegrass concert presented in the performance style of Nashville's famous Grand Ol Opry.
Friday 9th SPANK THE BOSS - A night of high octane Cajun Zydeco music that will have you up and dancing in the aisles
Saturday 17th JUDY SMALL - feminist singer-songwriter is a national treasure with an arroy of tours, CDs, sold out concerts, and songs that have become folk anthems for a generation of women. Supported by Raw Honey.
Sunday 18th COLCANNON will present (for the first time in South Australia), The Kelly Collection, a set of new songs written by John Munro about the most famous outlaw in Australian history, Ned Kelly. Another full house is assured - so get your bookings in soon to avoid disappointment.
Sunday 18th ROCKABILLY DAY - Cool cars and hot music? This is a first for the Centre, so you will have to come along and find out for yourself.
Friday 23rd JIGME NAMGYAL - was a surprise 'hit' at our last State Folk Festival, and returns to Adelaide in the footsteps of the Tibetan Nuns of Khachoe Ghakyil. A Tibetan exile himself, Jigme is sure to delight the audience with his presentation of traditional music and songs from his native land.
Saturday 24th AIRE FLAMENCO - are Adelaide's premiere flamenco performance ensemble. They take flamenco to the boundaries exploring the links between flamenco, classical music, Latin, Gypsy and other folk forms.

Saturday 7th THE AUSTRIAN CHOIR OF MELBOURNE - a night of choral music, folk songs, yodelling and good times Austrian style. With the South Australian Deutsche Volksliederchor German Choir. 7.30pm
Saturday 14th THE IDEA OF NORTH - A superb a'capella group with a unique presentation of vocal improvisation around a stunning array of songs from Broadway to Bondi. Supported by Umbrella A'capella.
Friday 20th BRENT PARLANE and ENDA KENNY - Appearing at the Folk Centre for the first time, two of Australia's finest singer-songwriter's will share the same stage for a night of great songs and tales. Will also include the launch of Brent's new CD, The Happy Note, 7.30pm., $15/$12/$10.
Saturday 28th THE FIRST "SINGERS SESSION" - is taking place at the Centre tonight, and you and your family, friends, and distant cousins are urged to attend. Come prepared to raise your voices and sing along to some of your favourite folk songs.

Saturday 5th ANNUAL QUIZ NIGHT - The Folk Federation's annual quiz night is back. These nights are always lots of fun, and a full house is assured. Don't be disappointed - book your table of eight now. $10 per person.
Sunday 6th MICHAEL MOREL 'The Wizard of Words' - Michael is a storyteller who will captivate you with his skills and stories. A show for the whole family. NOTE TIME: 2pm. $15/$12/Kids $5

Friday 8th HILLBILLY HOOT RADIO SHOW - Yes, the stars of the hit movie, 'Damn Right I'm a Cowboy' take to the Folk Centre stage to perform their very own brand of New Country Classics!
Saturday 9th WOMEN IN DOCS supported by HEATHER FRAHN - Women in Docs have established themselves as one of the best acts of their type in Australia and the world. Sunday 17th CROWEATERS CROWING - Michael Edgecombe's team was a great hit at the recent National Folk Festival Poetry Event. Now they relive that triumph in all their glory.

Friday 29th ARTEMISIA play lyrical, evocotive and vibrant sounds drawn from the Greek and Eastern Mediterranean traditions, spiced with Gypse and Celtic influences. Their music captures the sentiments, life experiences and mythologies of the region.
Saturday 30th JOHN FRANCIS & MATSUMOTO MONTZ - many will know of the exceptional talents of John Francis who shifts easily between traditional folk songs and jazz with side trips to the blues. In this extraordinary concert, John will take to the stage with Japanese banjo maestro Matsumoto Montz. Montz is at home with bluegrass, folk, and Dixie genre's, and he has also studied Indian classical singing. A night to expect the unexpected. $15, $12 & $10

They have recently returned from an overseas tour, and they are back at the Folk Centre to regale us with 'Tales of Our Travels'. This is sure to be a big show so book now... $15/$13 & $12
